Pibes Montserrat1 - 2Patriotas Pompeya

Patriotas Pompeya came away from Montserrat with a hard-fought 2-1 win that sums up the Primera I-GBA Norte well: two teams who play in a similar way, understand the same 4-4-2 logic, and where the difference is made by the details and composure in key moments. Pibes Montserrat had their moments and managed to take the lead through Julián Sotelo, but it was not enough to hold on to the advantage at home. The visitors came, suffered, and left with all three points thanks to their attacking efficiency.

Sotelo, that 22-year-old forward who wears his hunger on his sleeve, opened the scoring for the hosts with a goal that seemed to set the course of the match. Misael Altolaguirre, a 26-year-old midfielder who also had his share of good moments, provided the assist. But Patriotas Pompeya have players at the back who know how to read the game: Gabriel Filippa, at 35, remains a centre-back with the composure that the years bring, while Nene Caparros, a 33-year-old veteran, gives nothing away. The attacking reinforcements arrived through Ciro Bettega, an 18-year-old forward who does not shy away from the Primera, and he levelled the game. Nahuel Peñalva, a 17-year-old young right winger, was also a factor in the visitors' attack. The second goal arrived when Pibes Montserrat could no longer find any answers.

The result shows that Patriotas Pompeya, with a squad combining experience in defence with attacking youth, managed to prevail in a tight game. Gael Bertola, a 32-year-old central midfielder, was booked but did his job in the holding role. For Pibes Montserrat, despite playing at home with tactical balance, the lack of depth in midfield ultimately proved decisive when they needed to hold on to their lead. In the Primera I-GBA Norte, these matches are decided in this way: whoever makes fewer mistakes wins.
