Sportivo San Rafael1 - 2Club Florencio Varela

Sportivo San Rafael paid dearly for their lack of cutting edge at home. Club Florencio Varela took all three points with a victory that, rather than being surprising, was the result of a match in which both teams set out with similar ideas but differed in key aspects of their execution. The 2-1 win for the visitors reflects a deserved victory in a tight encounter, where San Rafael had their moments but failed to take advantage of them when it mattered most.

The match unfolded between two balanced 4-4-2 formations looking to control the game from the centre. Sportivo San Rafael tried to impose their authority at home, but the lines were too close together, making it difficult to create space effectively. Club Florencio Varela, meanwhile, were more clinical at key moments. The visitors found gaps in the home defence and exploited them without wasting clear chances. Florencio Varela's defenders were decisive when needed, while San Rafael were left frustrated, unable to create genuine opportunities or convert the ones they had. The consolation goal came late and without enough clarity to change the course of the match.

The result leaves Sportivo San Rafael frustrated at having competed on equal terms but come away from the pitch empty-handed. In Primera H del GBA Norte, these points dropped at home matter, especially when the opposition were not superior, merely more practical. Club Florencio Varela leave San Rafael with a victory that allows them to move up the table after matchday 2, while the home side will need to assess themselves quickly if they are to avoid finding themselves in trouble so early in the tournament.
