Club Tucumán Centro1 - 2Defensores de Concepción

Defensores de Concepción took a deserved win at Club Tucumán Centro's stadium, with a 2-1 scoreline that sums up the match well: tight, evenly poised in terms of approach but with differences in execution. Both teams set out with the same tactical shape, a balanced 4-4-2, which promised a contest without excesses or madness. Club Tucumán Centro had the advantage of playing at home, but failed to make the most of it when it mattered most. The home side got on the scoresheet, but the visitors showed more composure at key moments and that made the difference late on.

It was one of those matches where neither side dominates overwhelmingly, yet the intensity never drops. Defensores de Concepción were effective in transition, making use of the spaces left by the home defence to move forward with purpose. Club Tucumán Centro were not bad, but they lacked cutting edge in the final third and their lines never managed the synchronisation needed to create constant danger. The visitors pressed in an organised way, allowing them to control the tempo of the game without needing to unleash overwhelming attacking football. Defensores' two goals came at moments when Club Tucumán Centro switched off, a feature that in these lower-tier tournaments is usually punished without mercy.

For Club Tucumán Centro, there is the bitter taste of losing at home. They had chances to get back into the match, but the finishing touch was not there. Defensores de Concepción, meanwhile, leave with three valuable away points, something that in Primera H is pure gold. At this stage of matchday 2, the visitors have made ground and can breathe easy. Club Tucumán Centro will need to review what happened defensively during those lapses and adjust quickly so as not to be out of contention this early.
