Match report

Liniers took a win that they knew how to manage in conditions of total parity. Sportivo Floresta Sur had the commitment of playing at home, but it was the visitors who found the tools to break the deadlock in a match where both well-balanced approaches produced few clear chances. The goal came via veteran Adolfo Serpa, a thirty-three-year-old full-back who, since arriving at the club in 2015, knows well how to settle these tight fixtures. Serpa, with Comodoro Rivadavia running through his veins, scored at the right moment for Liniers to head back to the Province with the three points in a duel where nobody allowed themselves any excesses.

The home side tried to be the main act with their balanced 4-4-2, backed by midfielder Tomi Mercado on the left, a lad from Merlo who knows how to use both feet even though in this match he did not produce the required volume to press forward. Yago Tassinari, veteran forward aged thirty with a scar and all, had little in the air and could not link up with Matías Basile, attacking midfielder of just twenty-two who carried out his role without any sparkle. Liniers countered with clearer figures: Vicente Falcón, the seventeen-year-old Mendoza-born playmaker with the ability to unbalance, and Nazareno Wozniak up front, a twenty-seven-year-old striker hardened in the academy who moved the play well, though without getting on the scoresheet. The visitors' defensive partnership, with Nicolás Retegui, only just eighteen but still posting a 7.6 rating, and Enzo Saborido on the right with his Buenos Aires heritage, held firm without too much trouble against the home attacks.

Floresta Sur did not give up, but they did lack precision in the final metres. It was one of those afternoons where Liniers had just enough to win and executed it efficiently. For the home side, there are questions about what was missing to at least worry the visitors more, while the side that took the points adds to the fight to stay among the top positions in the Norte zone.
