Match report
Villa Crespo were left without any surprises at home. Belgrano Villa Crespo and Federación Mataderos drew 0-0 in a match where both sides came with similar set-ups, both in 4-4-2, looking for the same thing but finding very little. The pitch in the north of the city was left without a celebration, without that shout to justify the effort of being in the stands on a Saturday or Sunday. It was one of those matches where the 0-0 feels more like a punishment than a result.
Belgrano Villa Crespo had in Leandro Boschi a solid centre-back, the sort who at thirty-two is still a wall when they need him, a calming presence in defence. Adrián Irala, at twenty-seven, had minutes to try something in build-up, though the truth is there was not much to build. Darío Zaccaro completed the job on the right of midfield and picked up a yellow card that closes off options for what comes next. For the visitors, Joaco Peralta could not break down the home structure despite his thirty-two years of experience as a striker. Marcos Spada, also thirty-two, almost a mirror image of the attacker, was shown a yellow card that leaves a mark on him for the next fixture.
What remains is the feeling of two teams who came not to lose more than to win. Belgrano Villa Crespo are still yet to pick up a point in the domestic competition and that is starting to become a concern in the standings. Federación Mataderos take away a point that suits them, though it does not exactly solve much in the table either. For the manager, these goalless draws create more doubts than answers: is there something to fix, or is it simply a lack of attacking quality? Matchday 8 left little to analyse and plenty to forget.
