Unión Once2 - 0Pibes Montserrat

Unión Once made the most of home advantage to comfortably see off Pibes Montserrat on matchday 8 of Primera I del GBA Norte. The 2-0 was emphatic, but also reflected a match in which both teams used similar formations, balanced 4-4-2s, with the visitors unable to find the tools to create any real danger. The goals came at key moments, shutting the door on any prospect of a suspenseful finish.

Osvaldo Pedraza opened the scoring for the home side with a goal that summed up his performance that afternoon: a 19-year-old midfielder with a 7.2 rating who understands his role without trying to be something he is not, active in midfield and incisive when he takes the initiative. Omar Sarmiento doubled the lead with the second goal, the Merlo central midfielder who, at 25, already has a useful career behind him without being spectacular — exactly what Unión Once needed to manage the match. Santiago Ferreyra, the experienced 32-year-old centre-back, provided an assist that showed experience still has a place on this pitch. Jeremías Zambon caused problems down the left with his 22 years and characteristic movement, while Ariel Zorzi completed the pressure up front.

For the visitors, Mati Sgarbi in goal received a yellow card in a match where his team were never able to break through Unión Once's defensive lines. Alan Tosti and Zacarías Rizzo, both in their early twenties, carried out their defensive duties without causing any concern. Pibes Montserrat had no answer to the home side's early momentum, and the goals ultimately became predictable, almost inevitable. For Unión Once, it was a victory that strengthens their position in the area, built on names who work with humility rather than notoriety. The visitors leave without any points and with the task of reviewing what went wrong in their tactical approach.
