Match report
Ferro and Pibes Montserrat shared the points in a match where neither side managed to impose their game on the Constitution pitch. The goalless draw was the reflection of two teams that set out similar systems, both with a 4-4-2 shape and balanced mentality, which produced a scrappy contest where chances were scarce and the tempo never really got going. With this draw, the home side adds another point to the Primera I GBA Norte table, while the visitors remain unbeaten away from home.
The match unfolded with little attacking dynamism from either side. At the back, Ferro’s centre-halves — Beto Garay, at only eighteen years old, and Lionel Lugones, the experienced Patagonian stopper — closed down the spaces well. For their part, Lisandro Arrarte, a thirty-two-year-old veteran in the Pibes line, carried out a solid role. Misael Anzorena, the sixteen-year-old Ferro right-back, showed his trademark movement down the flank, trying to create play from wide areas. José Santi, Ferro’s left winger, did not find much space and ended up booked. The middle ground was where both teams’ intentions faded away, with few runs beyond the defence and slow transitions.
What remains from this match is the feeling of two squads still building their identity in this league. For Ferro, with a very young core around Garay and Anzorena, the point is not to be dismissed, although against a side like Pibes Montserrat, more directness was expected. Pibes, with Arrarte navigating the final years of his professional career, took away a draw that maintains their defensive solidity but also exposes shortcomings in their attacking play. The matchday continues with both clubs still seeking their first win of the campaign.
