Independiente Agronomía beat Argentinos de Chacarita in a match where balance was the dominant note, although home advantage ultimately proved decisive. With both sides playing 4-4-2 and adopting a balanced mindset, the fixture corresponding to Matchday 19 of Primera L GBA Sur was settled by the details, those margins that separate teams able to sustain their intensity at the right moments from those who lose concentration. The Agronomía side earned a fair 2-1 win, one that reflects superiority in game management more than overwhelming dominance.
Nahuel Stankovic, the Bahía Blanca goalkeeper aged thirty-eight, witnessed a first half in which both teams sized each other up without any major surprises. The veteran shot-stopper completed a solid match with a 7.6 rating, saving what came his way with the assurance that comes from experience. At the back, Víctor Villa, the twenty-year-old centre-back with that distinctive scar that shows when the effort mounts, put in a restrained performance alongside Brunelli in defensive midfield. Walter Brunelli, the twenty-three-year-old central midfielder from Tandil, carried out a vital balancing role, allowing Lisandro Schroeder at right-back the freedom to venture forward. Schroeder, the thirty-three-year-old veteran born in Comodoro Rivadavia, was one of the home side’s key outlets, getting on the scoresheet as the match developed.
The home attack found in Fabián Anchorena, the thirty-five-year-old winger with a background in Bahía Blanca, the missing spark. Anchorena saw his rating dip to 7.2 but was effective where it mattered, becoming an important factor in the attack. Schroeder scored one of the home goals while Anchorena netted the second, both with 7.2 ratings, keeping Agronomía’s forward play going. For Argentinos de Chacarita, Osvaldo Aizpurua, the thirty-eight-year-old striker also developed in Bahía Blanca, was present enough to pull one back with a goal that kept the visitors’ hopes alive. Diego Silvera, the twenty-eight-year-old attacking midfielder from Mendoza, provided the assist for that move but was booked during the game, becoming more tactically restricted in the closing minutes.
Argentinos never gave up and created dangerous situations despite being away from home, but Stankovic and the Agronomía defence held firm. It was one of those matches where the defensive quality of both teams prevented a rout, where the 4-4-2 structure worked more to contain than to rip apart. Independiente Agronomía knew how to make the most of home advantage without needing to expose themselves to unnecessary risks, while Argentinos de Chacarita came away with the credit of having competed right to the end under difficult conditions. A win built by Agronomía with veteran nous, one their home side will now have to defend in a tougher assignment.
