Match report

Villa Lugano witnessed a frenetic match where Sociedad Parque Centenario took a narrow but deserved win on matchday 19 of Primera L de GBA Sur. El Fortín set up an even 4-4-2 on their pitch, but it was not enough to contain the visitors' attacking play, as they came from afar with the same formation to make the most of their chances at just the right moments. It was a brilliant, goal-filled game where both sides went for it, with no excessive defensive calculations, always looking for the opposition net. In the end, it finished 3-2 to the Parque Centenario side, a result that made it crystal clear that in Primera L GBA Sur matches are decided by details, not territorial dominance.

El Fortín had their best attacking man in Emiliano Spinelli. The 28-year-old left winger, from Resistencia, scored twice on the night and was the home side's most dangerous player whenever the match opened up. Xavier Terzi, the 20-year-old Mendoza right-back, backed him up from defence with two valuable assists that fuelled the attack. But all that attacking output was not enough against a Sociedad Parque Centenario that made the most of its chances with greater ruthlessness. The visiting side had the finishing touch of Uriel Schiavi up front, who netted one of the three goals, and the contribution of Ruso Nieto from midfield, who stood out by scoring a goal and providing an assist. Gustavo Saracho in central midfield was a key balancing presence, while Aaron Vera and Cacho Galli completed the structure that allowed Parque Centenario to keep control in the closing stages of the match.

The particular feature of this fixture was its tempo: it never died down, with constant changes of pace and quick transitions from one end to the other. El Fortín looked to feed Spinelli so he could settle things down out wide, while Sociedad Parque Centenario made use of the width they were given to slip passes through to their forwards. Nieto was especially awkward on the left, where he combined his ability to take players on with the hips and balance of a midfielder who understands the game. At the back, Aaron Vera was solid for Parque Centenario, containing the home attacks with the structure Saracho set up for him.

The visitors left with three points that keep them in the mix in their section. El Fortín, despite Spinelli's two goals, were left empty-handed on a night when they had their chances but could not find the defensive solidity they needed. Xavier Terzi worked non-stop from full-back, but it was not enough. Parque Centenario executed better in the decisive moments and that was the difference in a match that could have gone either way until the final minute. That is how Primera L de GBA Sur works: open matches, no mercy, where efficiency matters more than any other factor.
