Deportivo Constitución Veteranos took a deserved win in La Matanza, where Mutual Liniers could not sustain the early pressure from visitors who were tactically sharper. The final 2-1 sums up an afternoon in which the men from La Plata made better use of their spaces than the home side, who relied too heavily on Santiago Valdés's isolated flashes. The 35-year-old centre-back, that veteran carrying the scar tissue of his years in Comodoro Rivadavia, scored a goal that at times looked like it might get the match back on track, but it was not enough to contain the drive of a visiting side that played with greater precision.
Felipe Santini and Tomás Bianco settled it for Constitución Veteranos with the efficiency of those who know where the goal is. The Chilean midfielder moved the ball well between the lines, while Bianco came out on top in the aerial game, where his Liniers rivals found no answer. Zacarías Jiménez, that 37-year-old full-back who two decades ago boarded a coach to Buenos Aires with no certainty, handled the right flank with ease. Milton Filippa, the youngster of just 17, showed concentration with every touch. Edu Bianchi held firm at the back, reading the home front line's movements in advance.
Mutual Liniers had their chance but lacked cutting edge in the second half. Valdés's goal came too late to truly change the scoreline. Deportivo Constitución Veteranos leave La Matanza with the three points that their collective performance merits, while the home side, still not losing faith, need to rethink their game if they want to compete in a group where the details weigh like stones. For ELDT: a clean away win for a side that knows what it wants on the pitch.
