Match report
El Vencedor de Montserrat came out on top at home with the fairness these tight matches demand. Two goals to one on matchday two of Primera L - GBA Oeste, with both sides using the same tactical tools: balanced 4-4-2s, no surprises on the strategy board. What there was, though, was efficiency at key moments, and that made the difference. Ramón Montoya opened the scoring for the hosts, the twenty-year-old midfielder from Tucumán who inherited worn boots but a firm stance. Elías Zunino, with his two-footed ability, developed on gravel pitches, sealed the victory in the second half. For Once Sur, Walter Bonaventura pulled one back; the striker from Tandil showed the left foot that earned him an easy transfer, but it was not enough.
The match unfolded at an even tempo, with no overwhelming dominance from either side. Axel Valenzuela, the eighteen-year-old goalkeeper who kept his Mendoza boots like relics, made key interventions when needed. Sportivo Once Sur created chances but lacked the decisive finish. Lucas Greenberg at right-back for El Vencedor did his job without any fuss, the thirty-two-year-old veteran who still delivers. Cristian Iturbe, the midfielder from Mendoza for Once Sur, tried to organise things through the middle but his assists were not enough to turn the score around. Simón Zuccotti, with that ability to strike with both feet, was another key pillar in the hosts' defence.
The result leaves El Vencedor with three points and a win that was fair in context. Once Sur are left with the sting of not turning their chances into goals in the first half. In a league where squads are evenly matched and margins are tiny, these two points dropped by the visitors could weigh heavily in the final standings. El Vencedor move on without excessive fanfare; just enough to win at home.
