C. y Barrio Montserrat5 - 3FC Varela

C. y Barrio Montserrat left no doubts at home and thrashed Mutual Mataderos 5-3 in a match where both teams came out looking to attack from the first minute. With identical 4-4-2 line-ups and balanced mindsets, the match was decided by the clarity the home side had to make the most of its chances. Montserrat were more clinical in the opposition box, while Mataderos were overwhelmed defensively despite their attempts to stay in the game. The result reflects a comfortable win, although the away side managed to score three goals that allowed them to preserve some dignity on a difficult afternoon.

Lorenzo Arrizabalaga was the undisputed star of the match with a hat-trick that put the result in the bag. The 31-year-old midfielder took advantage of every gap left by the away defence and finished with the precision of someone who knows where it hurts. Sebastián Bassi also chipped in with his share of goals and fair play from midfield, while Elián Berecibar added one more in an afternoon of attacking abundance. For the visitors, Nazareno Bartoli, Yago Villegas and Camilo Ruffini scored their goals, but they fell short against the Montserrat onslaught. Augusto Bracco, the home goalkeeper aged 35, had work to do but could not prevent Mataderos from finding the net three times.

The match left Montserrat firmly established at the top of the Primera L GBA Norte table, with a performance that allowed them to control the tempo from start to finish. Mutual Mataderos, despite the defeat, showed intent but lacked the defensive organisation needed to stop a rival that moved without urgency, making the most of what a side with no tactical answers along the way had to offer.
