San Cayetano FC2 - 0Estrella Villa Riachuelo

San Cayetano FC did not have to do much at all to brush aside Estrella Villa Riachuelo on the third matchday of Primera I in the south zone. A comfortable 2-0, no fuss, no suspense: the home side controlled the tempo with the ease of a team playing at home and knowing the ground. Both sides lined up in similar shapes, balanced 4-4-2s, but the difference lay in the execution. San Cayetano found gaps where the visitors only saw dead ends. Vicente Levin, a 31-year-old winger who has already been through other battles, was the man to open the scoring with a goal that sums up the afternoon neatly: no drama, just experience.

The home defence worked like a well-ordered system. Javier Triboldi in goal did not have to pull off miracles, just routine saves. The full-backs Ronaldo Macías and Leonel Besozzi, both youngsters a little over twenty, carried out their duties without unnecessary flourish. In midfield, San Cayetano controlled without suffocating; Estrella Villa Riachuelo tried, but their midfielders, with Pepe Aguilar in the centre of the pitch picking up a yellow card for his lack of tactical precision, never found the rhythm to string together dangerous play. Patricio Brogli up front, alone at 25, had no effective support in attack.

The visitors faded as the minutes went by. Neither Roberto Biagioli on the left nor the rest of the squad managed to cause any real concern. San Cayetano finished with another goal to round off a night of dominance without spectacle. For the home side, three points to add to their push in the zone; for Estrella Villa Riachuelo, a defeat that hurts more for what was not than for what happened. A match that shows that sometimes football does not need complicated stories.
