Match report
Círculo Parque Avellaneda and Indep. Villa Soldati shared the points in a match where neither side found enough clarity to break the deadlock. It was a contest between two teams that showed each other respect from the outset, both lining up in a 4-4-2 and adopting an balanced mentality, which produced a scrappy game where space was at a premium and chances on goal were few and far between. The result is fair for what was seen on the pitch: a goalless draw that reflects two teams lacking the sharpness needed to make the difference.
The home side set out their stall around their defensive spine. Zaid Meyer, the centre-back just 18 years old who arrived from San Juan a little over two years ago, carried out his role without major scares in a back four where Dante Murat at right-back picked up a yellow card for his enthusiasm in the tackle. Down the right, Javier Karam, the midfielder from Resistencia who joined the club almost by chance years ago, tried to create danger but with little success. At the other end, Oscar Puentes, the 21-year-old centre-back who represents the visitors, kept his composure in defence and helped Villa Soldati avoid too much trouble away from home.
The match lacked those moments that open things up on a matchday. Neither team dared to be careless, which led to a game where possession was shared but unproductive. For Círculo Parque Avellaneda, the draw at home leaves a bitter taste, given they had the advantage of the crowd and their own ground. For Villa Soldati, taking a point without losing is a result that could serve as a foundation, although it does not exactly spark excitement either. Matchday 3 of Primera I GBA Sur left both teams still searching for that attacking spark they have yet to find.
