Vet. Núñez2 - 0Atlético Villa Chiche

Veteranos de Núñez gave Barracas no respite and sealed a comfortable home victory that consolidates their progress in Primera I de CABA. With a convincing 2-0, the home side imposed their game from the off and managed with composure an advantage that came thanks to goals from Galo Arestizabal and Leonel Bisi. Barracas tried to compete with a similar setup, also 4-4-2 and an even mindset, but lacked the tools to really trouble the hosts. Left-back Alexis Azqueta, a 34-year-old veteran with experience in the leagues, failed to get forward down his flank and was tied to defensive duties for most of the match.

The match unfolded on a level tactical footing, but the difference lay in finishing. Mariano Zola, the 26-year-old centre-back who carries the weight of the home defence, went about his business without incident despite picking up a yellow card that served as a clear warning to be careful. Going forward, the Núñez side found space out wide: Bisi, the 32-year-old Uruguayan right winger who gets the job done without fuss, appeared in the box at exactly the right moment and scored one of those goals that needs no explanation. Arestizabal, the 27-year-old left-sided midfielder, added the second. Misael Zanini, Barracas's striker at just 23 years old but with a scar on his eyebrow that already tells stories, found no consistent support or space to hurt them. Camilo Aragón in the visitors' goal had to do his job, though without too many demands.

With this result, Veteranos de Núñez keep adding to their tally in the battle at the top end. Barracas, meanwhile, take a defeat that forces them to rethink the system if they intend to compete at this level. The home side showed that when they have attacking clarity and a solid defence, few can match them in this part of the city.
