Defensores de Florida1 - 1Defensores de Ricardo Rojas

At the pitch of Defensores de Florida, two Primera E sides shared the points in a match where balance was the main feature. The final 1-1 faithfully reflected what was seen over ninety minutes: two outfits set up in a 4-4-2, each trying to get on top without ever managing it decisively. Tomás Bianchi opened the scoring for the home side with a goal that seemed to set things on course, but Sebastián Almada, with the technical skill that marks him out, restored parity for the visitors. The Colombian from Defensores de Ricardo Rojas showed flashes of quality in midfield, that ability to solve things with his feet in awkward spaces that has set him apart since his years at Bucaramanga.

Florida's defence put in a solid display. Coco Etcheverry, the veteran centre-back of thirty-six, was a reliable stopper at the back and also chipped in with his share by building play from deep, providing an assist that proved decisive. Hernán Medina, the eighteen-year-old left-back from Merlo, did his job without wasting energy, although he could not avoid being overrun in a few spells. Gustavo Otamendi on the visitors' right flank also had his say with an assist, showing that both defences performed as expected. Juan Paredes, the experienced thirty-two-year-old forward, moved about with the assurance that comes from his background, although he could not find the space to be truly lethal.

Matías Reyes in the Ricardo Rojas goal kept out enough to keep his side alive when the home team were looking to add to their lead. Lucas Sánchez at left-back for the visitors showed up when needed. Matchday 1 in the GBA Norte group thus left one point apiece, a fair result in a game where both sides showed defensive strength but neither had the attacking sharpness to tip the balance decisively.
