Match report
General Pueyrredón de Constitución showed no mercy at home. Against Federación Liniers, they produced a commanding display that ended in a rout: 4-1 on matchday 17 of Primera I del GBA Oeste. Both teams lined up with the same formation, a balanced 4-4-2, but the difference lay in the home side’s efficiency and defensive precision. The Constitución side took every opportunity, while the visitors were unable to maintain the required tempo.
Samuel Pelletti was the star of the afternoon. The 24-year-old striker, originally from Comodoro Rivadavia, scored twice and earned a standing ovation from the crowd. His presence in the box was constant and lethal, showing why his 8.4 rating places him among the best players in the tournament. Nilo Artaza added another goal, contributing his share to the onslaught. On the right, 23-year-old Tomi Verdi carried out his role as a playmaker without putting a foot wrong. Constantino Bertone was solid at centre-back, keeping the defensive line well organised. For the visitors, Gabi Bettega scored Federación Liniers’ only goal, a consolation effort that meant little in the context of the collapse. Hector Rossini was booked while trying to limit the damage, but it was not enough.
The match left the visitors facing a difficult situation, as they fall further behind in the table after this defeat. Federación Liniers will need to rethink their tactical approach if they are to compete in this division. For General Pueyrredón, meanwhile, this emphatic victory strengthens their position and brings them closer to their objectives for the season. A performance that demands respect from ELDT and its team.
