Aurora de Parque Patricios1 - 0Atlético Belgrano R FC

Aurora de Parque Patricios took a well-earned win in a tight match against Atlético Belgrano R FC, with a goal from Augusto López from the right wing. The 1-0 result crowned an afternoon where both sides set out with similar systems, with balanced 4-4-2 formations that produced a scrappy game with few clear openings. The side from Parque Patricios made the most of home advantage to press at key moments, while the visitors came with the intention of taking something back from the South, but ended up unable to turn their ambitions into reality.

Joel Azqueta, the 24-year-old goalkeeper developed in Aurora's academy, had a quiet afternoon but was alert when called upon. At the back, centre-half Ismael Aizpún and veteran left-back Luciano Vivaldi provided the necessary solidity against Atlético Belgrano's attacks. In midfield, Tincho Quiroga — the experienced 35-year-old midfielder who is still going strong — was the link between defence and attack, although he picked up a yellow card for his defensive enthusiasm. For the visitors, Tobías Scopelliti at centre-half and Mario Barbano at left-back did their job without fuss. Marcos Sacchetti, the 19-year-old striker who has barely had any minutes on the pitch beyond the bench, had scarcely any chance to change his situation.

For Aurora, the victory represents three valuable points on matchday 5 of Primera I de CABA, although the overall display suggests there is room for improvement. For Atlético Belgrano, defeat leaves the feeling of an afternoon in which the side never quite found its rhythm, lacking the attacking threat to push hard at the end. López emerged as a minor figure in a win built more on solidity than on flashes of brilliance.
