Villa Urquiza took all three points in a match where both sides wanted the same thing, but only one managed to be more clinical. Vicente Friedman’s goal proved decisive on an afternoon when the hosts knew how to manage the game without overdoing it, with a defence that barely gave the visitors a chance. Independiente Agronomía came with the same tactical intent — a balanced 4-4-2 — but lacked that touch of precision that makes the difference in Primera L GBA Sur.
The home centre-backs Francisco Adamczyk and Nahue Pedraza held back the attacking onslaught with solidity, although the latter ended up seeing yellow for going too far. Friedman, at 21 and freshly arrived from the centre of Rosario, found space on the right flank to settle the match. In midfield, Tadeo Calabretta moved the game along with the experience of his 37 years, the kind of midfielder who knows where to put the ball without needing to make a fuss. At the other end, Walter Brunelli tried to break lines for Agronomía but ran into the efficiency of a rival who gave away no space. Pipa Rizzo, 32 and with plenty to prove in this division, tried but found no company at the sharp end of the visitors’ attack, in addition to picking up a yellow card for his impatience.
For Villa Urquiza, this victory keeps their hopes alive on matchday 5. Agronomía, with modest ratings in their line-up (barely 6.7 among their best men), will keep searching in the coming fixtures. Friedman, for his part, continues along his path of adaptation; Calabretta, at his age, keeps proving there is a future in experience when everyone else is playing in a hurry.
