AD Palermo Hollywood4 - 1El Fortín de Villa Pueyrredón

AD Palermo Hollywood showed no mercy on matchday 1 of Primera I - CABA and thrashed El Fortín de Villa Pueyrredón 4-1 in a match where the home side asserted their superiority from the off. Both teams lined up with similar shapes, balanced 4-4-2s, but the difference lay in the execution. Palermo Hollywood took every chance while El Fortín arrived without clear ideas in the opposition box, left exposed in transitions that proved costly. With Alfredo Trotta as the focal point of the move, the hosts built a midfield that smothered the visitor's attempts to create going forward.

Trotta was the undisputed star of the match. The 26-year-old Argentine central midfielder, in his prime and with a rating of 8.4, scored twice and pulled the strings from midfield. Fernando Aldama also shone with a goal of his own, while Rodrigo Arechavaleta, the experienced 31-year-old right winger who continues to deliver at a high level, wrapped up the rout. Cristian Schneider, El Fortín's 19-year-old youngster, scored a consolation goal for the visitors from the left flank, offering a glimpse of what he can do at this level, but it was not enough to stem the home tide. Santi Biscardi, Palermo's 31-year-old goalkeeper, had few problems keeping a clean sheet for most of the match.

For Palermo Hollywood, this start to the season is more than encouraging: three points in the bag and confidence flowing through a squad built to compete. El Fortín, by contrast, will need to do some serious soul-searching over how they allowed such a heavy defeat away from home. With this result, the hosts put themselves into the early mix, while the Villa Pueyrredón side will need to regroup quickly.
