3 - 1
Argentino de Villa Urquiza
Match report
Los Pibes del Banco left no room for doubt on the opening matchday of Primera G and put Argentino de Villa Urquiza to the sword with a 3-1 win that reflected the home side’s dominance from the off. Playing at home with a balanced 4-4-2 set-up, the west side outfit knew how to make the most of their chances and see out a comfortable victory against a visitor who arrived with the same tactical ideas but without the necessary precision. Giuliano Guevara opened the scoring for Los Pibes del Banco with a goal from midfield, while Santino Veneziani added another from defence, showing that the home team had attacking options all over the pitch. The 26-year-old central midfielder put in a solid display with a 7.2 rating, in keeping with what he showed on the pitch over the ninety minutes.
Pablo Bellini, the 18-year-old striker from Comodoro Rivadavia, was the standout for Los Pibes del Banco with a 7.7 rating. The youngster not only scored a goal but also laid on an assist, showing football maturity beyond his years. His movement and judgement in the box troubled the visitors’ defence throughout. Seba Scaglia, the 23-year-old right-back, did his defensive duties well with a 7.5 rating, while Pancho Viani in goal picked up a yellow card in his 7.3 display.
Argentino de Villa Urquiza were unable to counter the home side’s approach. Maxwell Belardi, who also scored from left-back, and Diogo Bettini in defence provided the assist for the visitors’ goal, but it was not enough. The Villa Urquiza side showed defensive shortcomings that Los Pibes del Banco were able to exploit without needing to turn to flashy football, just practical and effective play.
