Match report
Nueva Estrella Almagro earned a deserved win against Club de Floresta Este in a match where both teams were looking for the same thing: a balanced formation that ultimately suited the home side more. The 1-0 victory for the hosts felt like the natural result of a tight afternoon, without any flourishes or collapses, where the difference came down to the details and the experience of those who knew how to take advantage of the moment.
Ignacio Sperandio, a thirty-three-year-old forward with the precision that comes with age, was the man who settled the match. His goal came in a context where Nueva Estrella Almagro maintained constant pressure through their wingers: Franco Rosa, a thirty-six-year-old veteran who still retains the ability to beat his man, and Augusto Zurita, who covered the left flank with variety at twenty-six. Cristian Altuna, the centre-back who never abandons his habit of closing down every line with composure, provided a key assist in the build-up to the goal. Floresta Este tried to compete without overcomplicating things: their forward, Ángel Irala, could not find the space to cause damage, while Ramón Anasagasti in midfield tried to link the lines but failed to create fluency.
The match lacked drama because both squads respected their role of maintaining balance. Horacio Negrete, the home side's experimental midfielder, picked up a yellow card while trying to stop play when necessary. On the other side, Anasagasti also saw the card for the same reason. The lasting impression was one of efficiency from Nueva Estrella Almagro, who took advantage when they had to, while Floresta Este were left frustrated at not having created enough to dream of anything beyond defeat.
