ELDT transfer market: the week's biggest signings

It was a busy week in the ELDT transfer market, with the headline move seeing Atlético Chacarita Sur sign Bautista Portela from Atlético Pacheco for $67 million. The 22-year-old left winger has a level of 16, and it looks as though Chacarita saw enough potential to invest in that position. It was the most expensive signing among 563 deals, which generated almost $7 billion in total spending.

There was some movement among human managers, although it was limited: just 25 deals between them. One club that certainly made its presence felt was Soldados Mancos F.C., who operated as a luxury academy this week. They sold Sebastian Romero (an 18-year-old central midfielder, level 17) to Atlético Pacheco for $62 million, Zaid Curi (a 22-year-old centre-back, level 17) to Club Barracas for $57 million and Lucho Saracho (an 18-year-old defensive midfielder) to Club Isidro Casanova for $49 million, among others. In total, they brought in $212 million from four sales.

Club Isidro Casanova were the week's biggest spenders, splashing out $145 million on three signings: Scorza, Saracho and other reinforcements that put them firmly on the transfer-market radar. Defensores de Tigre Norte also smashed open the piggy bank, spending $111 million on Gemelli and Zubeldía, while Chacarita Sur and Barracas spent $94 million and $93 million respectively. At the other end of the table, Atlético Pacheco were the big sellers, bringing in $257 million from nine deals and charging top dollar for every departure.

Samuel Nader (a 25-year-old left midfielder, level 18) was another star to make a move this week: LOS GURISES FC bought him from Defensores del Norte for $61 million. Free agents played a smaller role than might have been expected, with no signings in that category, so the market was driven mainly by auctions between clubs. A week when those building their squads did so seriously — and those selling made sure they were well paid.
