Transfer market: ELDT’s biggest deals of the week

ELDT’s transfer market was in full swing: 643 deals worth $9143 million were completed, including 32 transfers between human managers that added extra spice to the market. Sebastián Romero took the top prize: the 18-year-old level 17 central midfielder from Soldados Mancos F.C. joined Atlético Pacheco for $62 million — a fee that shows how highly managers rate promising youngsters.

Quality signings came from all over. Samuel Nader joined LOS GURISES FC from Defensores del Norte for $61 million, while Zaid Curi moved from Soldados Mancos F.C. to Club Barracas for $57 million. Up front, Fabián Zaghi ($56 million) and Adrián Visentin ($52 million) were the most expensive forwards. The round of transfers showed that managers are willing to invest in both experience and young players with potential.

Sportivo La Boca were the kings of the market: they spent $108 million on three new signings, but were also the second-biggest sellers, bringing in $173 million from four deals. Sportivo Don Torcuato took the seller-of-the-week award with $181 million from four players, including Fabián Zaghi. Defensores de Liniers ($103 million), Atlético Chacarita Sur ($102 million) and Club Barracas ($88 million) also spent with real conviction.

At the other end, Sportivo Don Torcuato and Sportivo La Boca made the most money from sales. Club El Jagüel ($145 million from 5 sales), Atlético Magdalena ($139 million from 3 sales) and Soldados Mancos F.C. ($119 million from 2 sales) also took the chance to clear some room in their squads. Balancing investment with player sales remains key for managers looking to keep the books in order while building their projects.
