Primera D - GBA Oeste: Matchday 15 summary

Condor ran riot on matchday 15, putting seven past Atlético San Antonio de Padua in a result straight out of a film. It was the sort of hammering that really hurts, because the Padua side never stood a chance. The win strengthens Condor’s position at the top with 42 points, and they are beginning to pull away from the rest of the division. It is clear they are operating at another level in this Primera D GBA Oeste, the fifth tier of Argentine football.

The other major talking point came at Caladan, where Defensores de Haedo came flying out of the blocks and beat the hosts 5-2. It was a feisty match in which Haedo showed they are ready to challenge near the top, scoring freely and showing their potential. Meanwhile, Defensores de Pontevedra continued to collect points with a narrow 1-0 win over Club Atlético Tandil, keeping second place with 31 points.

Elsewhere, Atlético Ferrocarril Midland made home advantage count with a convincing 4-0 win over Atlético Mar del Plata, while Defensores de Gregorio Laferrere and Atlético Lomas del Mirador both won 1-0 in their respective fixtures. Atlético Marcos Paz and Sportivo San Justo played out a goalless draw, with Club Villa Sarmiento and Defensores de Trujui also sharing the points.

The next matchday promises more excitement, with the teams battling near the top needing to keep winning if they are not to lose their chance of fighting for promotion.
