Primera D GBA Sur: Matchday 15 roundup

Matchday 15 in Primera D GBA Sur, the fifth tier in Greater Buenos Aires South, was the sort that leaves you rubbing your eyes. Los Pájaros FC came flying out of the blocks and thrashed Sportivo Longchamps 3-0, leaving no doubt who was in charge. But if we’re talking big wins, Cruz Del Sur had a truly miserable afternoon, going down 5-0 to MCD in the heaviest defeat of the matchday. Results like these show just how one-sided matches can become in this division when there’s a clear difference in form.

League leaders Club Social y Atlético Solano Este remain firmly at the top with 40 points after beating Arg. Humberto 2-0, strengthening their position. Club Atlético Monte Castro, who beat CD Tecca 1-0, hold second place on 32 points and are keeping a close eye on the leaders. Los Pájaros FC made a significant jump after their thumping win and are now third with 29 points, while Los Garrafas also picked up a 1-0 victory over Villa Alba club to stay in the leading pack on 28 points.

There were also a couple of goalless draws on a matchday when some teams simply couldn’t find a way through. San Emilio FC and Atlético Burzaco shared the points in a 0-0 draw, as did Club Cañuelas and Club Ciudad De Bolívar. Lomas FC, meanwhile, took advantage by beating Sportivo Luis Guillón 2-0 and climbing the table.

The next matchday will be key in finding out whether the leaders can keep going or someone behind them can turn up the pressure.
