Primera División: matchday 12 results and table

Sportivo Nordelta were a force of nature on matchday 12, putting three unanswered goals past Sportivo Pergamino in the biggest win of the round. At the top, meanwhile, something nobody expected happened: Atlético Boedo could not break down Defensores de La Reja and had to settle for a draw, remaining top but with a bitter taste in the mouth. Club Ituzaingó took the opportunity to move within two points of the leaders after beating Atlético Pacheco, although the latter are still making their presence felt near the top of the table. Defensores del Norte had a difficult afternoon, losing 2-1 to Defensores de Liniers, while Sportivo Castelar moved into the top three with a narrow 1-0 win over Atlético Chacarita Sur.

At the foot of the table, the scrap is getting grittier by the week. Atlético Chacarita Sur still cannot get going and suffered another home defeat, taking yet another blow. Atlético Parque Patricios cannot pull clear of the bottom after a goalless draw with Sportivo Bahía Blanca, who remain in troubled waters. Club Barracas beat Club Punta Alta 2-1 in a match where points were handed out sparingly, while Defensores de Tigre Norte took all three by beating Club Mataderos 2-0.

Overall, it was a fairly even matchday, with seventeen goals shared across eight fixtures. Now we will have to see whether the leading sides can keep up the pace, or whether inconsistency starts to take its toll as the toughest part of the season approaches.
