Primera División: Matchday 9 Preview and Kick-off Times

Matchday 9 looks tasty tonight, with several fixtures that could have a big impact on the table. The biggest one on paper is Sportivo Castelar against Club Punta Alta: Castelar are fourth with 16 points and come into it in mixed form (two draws and one defeat in their last five), while Punta Alta are battling in the congested middle of the table, sitting eighth on 10 points but having lost their last three, leaving them in a difficult position. It is a chance for Castelar to get back on track; for Punta Alta, it is must-win territory if they are to avoid falling further adrift.

The other battle near the top sees Club Ituzaingó take on Sportivo Nordelta. The leaders, Ituzaingó, have 17 points and are setting an impressive pace (three wins in their last five), so they will be keen to keep their foot down. Nordelta, meanwhile, are in the danger zone with 9 points and worrying form: they have lost three of their last five, and now face a side in form that will give them nothing.

Atlético Pacheco versus Club Barracas is another top-end fixture with plenty of promise. Pacheco are third with 17 points and arrive in inconsistent form (two wins from five), while Barracas are sixth on 15 points but have a painful run to put right: they won four in a row before losing their last match, so they will be looking to get back on track.

There is important movement at the bottom of the table too. Club Mataderos are twelfth with 8 points and have not won for some time (four matches without a victory), which is serious at this stage of the season. Sportivo Bahía Blanca have won their last two but sit 16th and bottom with just 4 points, so both sides desperately need to pick up points.

At 21:00 tonight, the pace of several teams in this area of the table will be decided: some have plenty at stake, some are teetering on the edge and others are looking to cement their place near the top. Do not miss it live.
