Primera Nacional Zone A: Matchday 15 Round-up

Defensores de Flores remain top after beating Sportivo Núñez 2-0 on matchday 15. The Flores side have strengthened their lead with 31 points and a healthy advantage over the chasing pack. Atlético Parque Patricios also made their mark this weekend, beating Atlético Recoleta 2-0 to stay in pursuit on 28 points, just behind the leaders.

Sportivo Once climbed the table after seeing off Sportivo Villa Lugano 1-0, taking them to 27 points in third place. It was hardly a surprise at this stage of the campaign, although the Lugano side could not find a way through the opposition defence all afternoon.

There was little goalmouth action in the rest of the weekend’s fixtures. Club Mataderos picked up an important win by beating Defensores de Villa Urquiza 1-0, while Sportivo Villa Ortúzar and Defensores de Palermo shared the points after a goalless draw. Atlético Villa Pueyrredón and Club Villa Soldati also finished level, drawing 1-1, as did Club Almagro Sur and Atlético Belgrano FC. Club Saavedra and Atlético Pompeya completed the matchday with an uneventful 0-0.

The next matchday promises plenty of movement at the top of the table, with the main contenders looking to close the gap on the leaders.
