Primera Nacional Zone A: Matchday 8 Results and Table

Sportivo La Lucila remain unstoppable in the group, extending their lead after beating Club Almagro Sur 2-1 in a matchday full of joy and concern. The La Lucila side have reached 22 points without losing, showing they mean business in Season 2 of ELDT. Meanwhile, Sportivo Villa Lugano also did the job, winning 1-0 away at Club Villa Soldati to hold on to second place with 17 points. Defensores de Bella Vista enjoyed some breathing space by beating Atlético Recoleta 2-1, although they are still in trouble in the table, while Recoleta remain fourth with 14 points. Elsewhere, Defensores de Flores and Defensores de Palermo drew 2-2 in a match where both sides dropped points, while Sportivo Nuñez thrashed Atlético Rincón 2-0, with Rincón still searching for consistency in the competition.

At the bottom of the table, things are getting increasingly difficult for several sides. Atlético Villa Pueyrredón hit rock bottom after losing 0-1 at home to Atlético Pompeya, leaving them in the danger zone with just 5 points, alongside Defensores de Villa Urquiza, who drew 0-0 with Sportivo Once. Defensores de Villa Urquiza remain stuck in the penultimate position on 4 points, while Sportivo Villa Ortúzar at least secured a 1-1 draw with Club Saavedra and can breathe a little easier in the battle to avoid relegation. The reality is that everything at the bottom is decided matchday by matchday, and any slip-up could prove fatal.

Now matchday 9 is upon us, and the battle is intensifying in both sections of the table.
