Match report

Aurora de Coghlan made the most of home advantage and came away with a five-goal thriller against El Tradicional de Parque Chacabuco on matchday 4 of Primera L - GBA Sur. The 3-2 final score rather understates how even it was: both sides came out looking to play, mirror-image 4-4-2 line-ups, but it was the home side who ended up with the sharper reflexes when it mattered most. Víctor Pietrzak, a striker of just 21 with a rating of 8.4, was a constant problem for the visitors' defence. The Tigre youngster scored twice and showed that ability to be where the ball drops, that instinct you cannot teach. Xavier Altolaguirre, the 33-year-old winger who brings Mendoza experience with him, was the organiser in midfield, supplying the assists that allowed Pietrzak room to finish.

El Tradicional were no pushover. Brian Aizpurúa netted one of the visitors' goals with the precision of a man who wastes no movement, and Toño Biscardi also found the back of the net in a match where the centre-backs — Nilo Curi on the home side and Biscardi for the visitors — had a night of constant traffic. Tomás Borghi, the striker from Comodoro Rivadavia, provided an assist but was booked, a reflection of mounting frustration in a side that could not sustain the tempo it had set in the first thirty minutes.

What this match left behind is that Aurora de Coghlan have a front line that works. Pietrzak is not a luxury striker, but he scores, makes decisions quickly and occupies the spaces well. By contrast, El Tradicional leave with the feeling that they could have done more, but never linked up. Bruno Avanzi, the home goalkeeper of just 16, was hardly called into decisive action, but that says something too: when the team is comfortable at the back, the keeper can breathe easily.
