Match report

AD Villa Urquiza gave Argentino de Versalles no chance whatsoever. At Gerli pitch, the home side produced a commanding display that ended in a categorical thrashing: 4-0, matchday 4 of Primera L of GBA Sur. The home team controlled the tempo with solidity from the 4-4-2, taking advantage of the weaknesses of a visiting side that never found tactical or footballing answers to stop the attacking flow of the side driven to victory without any scares.

Nahue Pedraza was the undisputed star of the match. The nineteen-year-old centre-back, with a rating of 8.4, played like a footballer from another level: he not only guarded the defensive line with authority, but also popped up in attack with lethal opportunism. His two goals came at different stages of the match, showing that Villa Urquiza had drawn up game plans where centre-backs could join the attack without neglecting their defensive duties. The youngster, who arrived from Patagonia years ago, showed that precocious maturity that sets him apart: sharp reading of the game, impeccable timing in his forward runs. Maxi Aizaga, the 27-year-old left-back, also left his mark on the scoresheet with a goal that completed the home side's display of superiority.

Argentino de Versalles came into the match with the same tactical intentions as their rivals: a balanced 4-4-2. But intent was not enough to counter Villa Urquiza's performance. Ian Zardini, a goalkeeper of just eighteen years old, had to work overtime between the posts. Héctor Krawczyk, the 36-year-old left winger who brings accumulated experience from Bahía Blanca, failed to create consistent attacking danger. The visiting defence, with Ismael Bovo at left-back, was constantly exposed. There was no room for reactions, nor for those flashes of brilliance that might have changed the course of the match.

Nicolás Branca, Villa Urquiza's central midfielder, exercised absolute control of midfield with his rating of 7.6. He carried out his role as the link man without fuss, easing both defensive circulation and organised attacks. Francisco Adamczyk, the eighteen-year-old centre-back with a rating of 7.4, supported Pedraza in containment and showed a good attitude on a night when the visitors asked for little. Fede Kowalczyk in the Villa Urquiza goal barely had any notable interventions, another sign of the home dominance that allowed no dangerous approaches.

The rout reflected a difference in class within the same division. Villa Urquiza executed efficiently, took their chances and managed their lead without needing to take unnecessary risks. Argentino de Versalles left Gerli with no answers and a defeat that hurts not so much for the result as for the total absence of a footballing response.
