Match report
Parque Centenario and Círculo Parque Avellaneda shared the points in a match where both sides cancelled each other out with similar set-ups. The final 1-1 sum it up neatly: a low-key afternoon at the home pitch, where neither managed to get the upper hand in any real sense. Both sides lined up in 4-4-2 with a balanced mentality and produced a predictable match, with no great tactical surprises or attacking flashes to justify a gap on the scoreboard.
Oliverio Borrelli broke the deadlock for the home side with a goal that had them dreaming of all three points. The 22-year-old Mendoza attacking midfielder had his moment, with a rating of 7.2, and found the net in a match where chances were thin on the ground. For the visitors, Leonel Zenatti levelled matters: the 18-year-old left-back scored the goal that allowed Avellaneda to breathe and at least take something from the fixture. Zenatti has been doing his work from deep, without any pretensions of being the star, but with that knack of turning up at the right moments. Adrián Escalante, the home side's Uruguayan winger, provided the assist that led to Borrelli's goal, putting in an honest shift with a rating of 6.5 on an afternoon when there was not much else to ask of him. Dante Murat, in Avellaneda's defence, went into the book for a challenge that was not excessive but was punished without hesitation by the referee.
What remains at the end is a sense of a missed opportunity for both. Centenario failed to make the most of home advantage against a visiting defence that stood firm on the pitch. Avellaneda were content to rescue a draw which, given the flow of the match, was not a bad result in the context of matchday 5 either. Two more points apiece in Primera I de GBA Sur, though neither side will be remotely satisfied.
