Juventud La Boca2 - 2Indep. Villa Soldati

Juventud La Boca and Independiente Villa Soldati shared the points in a fixture where both balanced approaches ultimately proved insufficient to tip the scales. The final 2-2 sums up an afternoon of swings and turns in which neither side managed to dominate convincingly, although neither did it allow its rival to get away from the match. Two 4-4-2 line-ups with similar mindsets produced a scrappy game in midfield, where Sergio Sorbi from Villa Soldati was decisive with a couple of assists that put the visitors ahead more than once. Ronaldo Tomé opened the scoring for the home side with his trademark finishing, but Alan Salvatierra levelled for Villa Soldati emphatically, though he picked up a yellow card that affected him in the minutes that followed.

The second half kept up the intensity. Giuliano Bassi, that 29-year-old midfielder who grew up almost alongside the pitch of Juventud La Boca, appeared in the box to restore parity with a goal that allowed the home side to dream of all three points. But Román Roca, Villa Soldati's striker with the austerity typical of men of his lineage, levelled matters once again. Santino Saborido, the youngest centre-half in the home side, carried out his defensive duties and contributed in the assist, but it was not enough to hold back the visitors' attacks. Stefano Beltrame, the visitors' holding midfielder, tried to organise the middle from his stance, though without the clarity the match required.

The draw leaves Juventud La Boca with a bitter taste; they played at home and could not turn the advantage into victory. For Villa Soldati, the point rescued away from home is a positive one on a pitch where taking anything is always hard. Matchday 5 of Primera I GBA Sur did not produce any clear-cut conclusions, and both sides will continue in search of the consistency that will allow them to pull away in the table.
