Club A Sac0 - 1Juventud Abasto

Juventud Abasto took all three points from Pompeya with a ruthlessness that Federación could not neutralise. In a match where both sides opted for similar set-ups, the difference lay in the details: a goal that arrived, the ability to shut up shop when needed, and an away defence that read the game well. The final 1-0 sums up a night where the hosts had their chances but found no luck, while those from Abasto made the most of the only one that really mattered in Primera L - GBA Oeste, matchday 1.

Ivo Caro was the cornerstone of the victory, producing that 7.7 rating which makes him one of the most reliable centre-backs in the area. The left-footer from Comodoro Rivadavia handled the aerial game without too many scares and was a constant shield in defence. Emiliano Arestizabal and Seba Zella at full-back were tasked with stopping Pompeya's advances, while Leandro Tassone in goal completed a night with few major worries. For the home side, Pocho Tronci moved about up front as best he could but found no space; the 31-year-old veteran, as experienced as few, saw his team-mates offer him little. Gerardo Becker in defence tried to stand firm, but the visitors were better organised at the back. Ignacio Branca on the left flank was only a sticking plaster, nothing more.

Galo Andueza, the striker who at 28 keeps that knack of being in the right place alive, was the man who finished it for Juventud Abasto. The match was in Federación's hands in the closing minutes, but a lack of accuracy proved fatal. For the home side, this defeat at home on the opening matchday hurts more than a thrashing: it is the bitter taste of a game that could have been won. For Juventud Abasto, it is a season opener full of character, on the road and efficient.
