La Gloria de Boedo0 - 1Club A Sac

Federación Pompeya took a deserved victory in Boedo, in a match where both sides used similar set-ups but the visitors found the clinical edge the home side could not produce. La Gloria de Boedo set out to control proceedings from their balanced 4-4-2, but Federación Pompeya knew how to pace their play and strike at the right moment. A goal in the second half settled a afternoon in which the home side's wastefulness was as decisive as their rivals' coolness.

Pocho Tronci, the visiting striker aged 31 with a rating of 7.6, was the one who caused the most damage in attack. His awkward presence in the Boedo area was well complemented by the movement of Ricardo Bauer, another striker who pressed constantly. At the back, Samuel Miguens defended solidly in the Pompeya defence, while Ignacio Branca was a wall at left-back. For the home side, León Bottura, the 16-year-old youngster who still carries that story of scouting and a first chance in his backpack, had no room to show his potential. Xavier Aronica on the right and Chino Negrete on the left did their defensive work without incident, although Negrete saw yellow for a needless moment of recklessness.

The result punishes inefficiency more than any difference in quality between squads. La Gloria de Boedo had their moments, but could not turn them into clear chances. Federación Pompeya, by contrast, created less but looked sharper. For the home side, this defeat at home will weigh on the Primera L, West zone standings. For the visitors, three points that strengthen their position with a style of play free of unnecessary swings.
