Sportivo Flores Norte0 - 1Club Deportivo Veteranos de Malvinas

Deportivo Caballito Veteranos earned a fair victory in Flores, in a match where both sides set up in similar fashion but the visitors were more precise in the moments that mattered. The solitary goal of the afternoon was enough for the Caballito side to take three points away from home, on matchday 17 of Primera I de GBA Norte where Sportivo Flores Norte found no decisive attacking answers.

The match unfolded within predictable margins. Both 4-4-2 line-ups with an even mentality made the game tight, with no great deal of space for either side. Gerardo Valenzano, the DM for the visitors with a rating of 7.7, was Caballito's conductor: well positioned in midfield, he cut out the home side's attempts with precision. Daniel Huber, who saw yellow during the match, contributed from the attacking flank with his 7.6 rating. At the back, Galo Schulz kept the line organised. For Flores, Brian Ferrari in central midfield did his job as a holding player but without the ability to create imbalances; his 6.6 rating reflected a solid though uninspiring performance. Iván Camargo, the 16-year-old youngster at right-back, showed the limitations of his age against the experience of the Caballito wingers.

What made the difference was efficiency. Diogo Pacheco, the 24-year-old striker who arrived at Caballito almost by chance years ago, converted the only clear chance his side had. Adolfo Bengoetxea in the Flores goal did what he could, but his 6.5 rating speaks of a goalkeeper who was more ordinary than spectacular. For Sportivo Flores, this home defeat hurts because they faced a rival who was not superior, but was more accurate when the chance came. Caballito leave with the three points and a defensive solidity that allows them to pick up points away from home.
