Pibes Montserrat1 - 1Real San Cristóbal Reservas

Pibes Montserrat and Real San Cristóbal Reservas shared the points in a match where both teams played it safe. The final 1-1 at Montserrat’s pitch reflected two balanced approaches that never quite managed to settle the contest. With identical 4-4-2 formations and similar mentalities, what we saw was a match in which neither side wanted to take too many risks, where every mistake could be punished and caution outweighed ambition.

Misael Altolaguirre opened the scoring for the hosts with a goal that allowed the home side to dream of all three points. The twenty-six-year-old midfielder, born in Litoral, produced his best football on the left flank. Alan Tosti, his full-back teammate, provided an assist that put the visitors under early pressure. But Real San Cristóbal Reservas responded with the composure that comes with experience. Joaquín Castelli, a thirty-four-year-old forward who joined the club almost by chance years ago, levelled the match. The veteran found spaces where the hosts left gaps and finished with the precision of someone who knows the pitch and how to make the most of every opportunity. Renzo Vidal in central midfield and Osvaldo Khouri in defence were solid in containing Montserrat’s attacks.

The draw leaves Pibes Montserrat unable to make headway in the fight for the top places in Primera I, while Real San Cristóbal Reservas take a valuable point away from home. Mati Sgarbi did his part in goal for the hosts, but Julián Sotelo, the young forward from Comodoro, could not find the finish his team needed. Two well-matched teams who know each other well, gave nothing away and, on this seventeenth matchday in the northern zone, simply drew because neither side had more to offer.
