Match report
La Verdad de Coghlan left no doubts at home and brushed aside CJ Villa del Parque with a convincing 3-0 win that strengthened their campaign in Primera I de CABA. The hosts, who lined up in a balanced 4-4-2, found in the visitors a side that could not sustain its defensive structure beyond the first half. Villa del Parque came with the same formation and mindset, but the numbers proved ruthless: three goals against, zero clear chances and an afternoon to forget in the Conurbano.
Yoel Castiglione was the left-sided anchor that allowed La Verdad de Coghlan to build superiority down that flank, while in midfield the pairing of Gianni Vidale and Lalo Mendoza’s creativity (who scored one of the goals) created the spaces for Ricardo Tonelli, the 16-year-old left-footer, to make his contribution with a goal included. The seasoned Elías Zumpano, with his 33 years of know-how, organised the back line without any scares. At the other end, Leonardo Montero in the Villa del Parque goal could do little against the attacking volume they were up against, while Héctor Bruschi, the 31-year-old midfielder from Mendoza, tried to hold things together in the middle without enough support. Roberto Hartmann, the 21-year-old Brazilian full-back, was constantly beaten by pressure on the flank.
The visitors never found the rhythm to match approaches. Where Coghlan arrived with purpose, Villa del Parque barely tried half-chances without much conviction. The difference was not only tactical but one of execution: the hosts took their chances, the visitors wasted the few they had. With this victory, La Verdad de Coghlan remain in the qualification places, while Villa del Parque will have to review what went so badly wrong on this trip that left defensive lapses hard to explain.
