Liga Balvanera2 - 1Atlético Villa Chiche

Liga Balvanera took a victory they thoroughly deserved, though CR Barracas did not leave empty-handed. The 2-1 in the home side's favour sealed a match in which both teams, level in approach (4-4-2 apiece), went after their own game without giving up balance. This was not one of those fixtures that break structures; it was more a match between sides who understand the game, who respect the spaces, who let the one that arrives first prevail.

Gino Lima was the most noticeable man on the pitch. The twenty-eight-year-old right winger, with that story of inherited boots still carrying mud from other battles, scored a goal and provided an assist that proved decisive. Alongside him, the home defence remains solid with Constantino Tassinari at right-back showing real strength; Tassinari is one of those who did not come from a sporting springtime but from the mud of trials, with no connections going before him. In goal, Tincho Barrios, only nineteen years old, did his job with assurance even though he picked up a yellow card that leaves him on the brink. Striker Benicio Bertolino also saw yellow at the end, while Cataldo Cerda in the centre of defence held out as best he could, though he too would be booked.

For CR Barracas, Misael Zanini was the one who scored for the visitors. Zanini, at twenty-three, carries the scars of a childhood playing on dirt; in this match he shouldered the attacking burden with Bruno Varisco behind him, holding the defensive line and trying to help out when possible. But it was not enough: Liga Balvanera dominated the transitions and knew how to manage the lead. Barracas leave with a fair defeat in a match where there were no miracles, only honest football from sides equal in intent but different in execution.
