Argentino de Chacarita1 - 0Central de Saavedra El Barrio

Argentino de Chacarita took a narrow win against Central de Saavedra El Barrio in a match where both sides went after their own game from symmetrical set-ups but without finding too much space to get going. Adriano Montero's goal, from the 27-year-old striker who carries the experience of a lifetime in Patagonia in his chest, proved enough to tip the balance at home. A goal that sums up the match nicely: opportunistic, without too many aesthetic pretensions, but effective. Central de Saavedra did not sit back on the rival's pitch, but they lacked precision when the chances came.

Jesús Rizzo, Chacarita's young goalkeeper at just twenty, did not have to do anything extraordinary but was alert at the right moments. For the visitors, Emanuel Riquelme did his job without any scares. In midfield, Coco Volpi moved fluently for the home side, winning space that he then did not quite know how to make the most of. Pipa Barrenetxea, the 27-year-old winger with a knack for the flanks, tried to create something down the left although without ever becoming a sustained threat. Leonel Solis, the youngster of just 16 that Chacarita brought in from Comodoro Rivadavia, kept running non-stop but still needs years to understand the rhythms of this league. Central tried to press with Pedro Núñez and Nene Areta up front, both looking to create something, but the home defence was compact.

For Argentino de Chacarita, this win is a relief in a matchday that could have been tricky. For Central de Saavedra, there is the feeling that they had their chance and did not make the most of it as they should have. In an increasingly tight Primera I, where the margins for error are minimal, the detail made the difference. Montero understood it at just the right moment.
