Las flores fc1 - 0Sportivo Liniers FC

Atlético Saavedra took all three points in a match where parity was the dominant note. Against Sportivo Liniers, the home side won 1-0 in a tight game that reflected the tactical balance of both teams. With identical 4-4-2 formations and balanced mentalities, there were no huge differences in the play, more a contest where the details proved decisive. Facundo Foyth, Saavedra’s forward, picked up a yellow card during the match but was decisive in the attacking area. His presence, with a rating of 7.6, made the difference in the home attack. At the back, Andrés Romero maintained his trademark solidity, while Franco Sosa distributed from midfield intelligently. Mariano López, the youngster of just 16 years old, showed promising qualities in his role as an attacking midfielder, proving that the club is looking to develop its academy players. Gerónimo Gallo, the naturalised Brazilian who arrived almost by chance years ago, did his job on the right flank.

For the visitors, Sportivo Liniers failed to turn their approach into clear goalscoring chances. Mateo Ortega, their attacking reference at 17 years old, could not find the space he needed. Roberto Cabrera, the 35-year-old veteran at the heart of defence, was booked and tried to contain the opposition’s advances as best he could. Nicolás Zubeldía tried to create chances from the left without much success. The away side maintained tactical discipline but lacked connection at key moments.

The goal that settled the match came in a context of overall equality. Saavedra took advantage of a specific moment to break the deadlock and claim the points. A deserved win that gives the home side some breathing room in Primera E de CABA, though without dazzling performances. Liniers leave empty-handed but without any outright hammering.
