Mitre Sport0 - 0Sportivo Belgrano R Norte

Liga Recoleta and Sportivo Belgrano R Norte met in conditions of tactical parity but without the precision needed to break a deadlock that ended up being the undisputed main feature of the afternoon. Both teams opted for defensive solidity with their four-line formations, which produced a match where space was scarce and attempts on goal were fairly tame. The 0-0 result neatly summed up the lack of attacking clarity from both squads on this opening matchday of the Primera L de CABA.

Sportivo Belgrano R Norte arrived with youth in their lines. Kiki Arrarte, at just eighteen years old, lined up in the centre of defence and showed what an adolescent with physical ability can do, although he is still short of match experience at this level. In midfield, Alberto Braun and Sasha Barbieri, both twenty-two, posted a rating of 7.2 each and got through the game without standing out. Stefano Resa completed the defensive line with his twenty-six years of experience, but even that was not enough to give the away side any incision. For Liga Recoleta, the full-backs were the most noticeable: Andrés Brignole on the left kept a 7.2 rating, while Diogo Maldonado saw yellow on the right with 7.1, perhaps being too cautious after the booking.

The draw leaves both teams with the same sense of not quite enough. For Liga Recoleta, playing at home without being able to break the deadlock is never a good starting point, although defensively there were no worrying alarms. Belgrano, for their part, take away a result that is respectable but does not exactly fuel hopes of a strong start. The Primera L will carry on, but these two squads will need to find an attacking urgency that, for now, was nowhere to be seen.
