Club Atlético San Silvines De Boedo0 - 0Unión Palermo Hollywood

Veterinarios Barracas and Unión Palermo Hollywood shared the points in a match where caution took precedence over ambition. The goalless 0-0 draw on the opening matchday of the Primera L de CABA reflected two balanced approaches which, rather than seeking each other out, cancelled each other out. Both teams came out in a 4-4-2 formation and with a mentality of not giving an inch, which led to a tight match where clear chances were nowhere to be seen. Vet. Barracas had the backing of their fans/supporters, but that was not enough to breach an away defence that stayed alert for the full ninety minutes.

Nico Viani, the Peruvian goalkeeper, only 17, in the home net, played a restrained role; with a rating of 7.2, he made the necessary interventions without being put under extreme pressure. For Unión Palermo Hollywood, Pichu Kovaleski was the most active defensive pivot, although his display earned him a yellow card. The 28-year-old midfielder, who carries the experience of having played in more demanding settings, was a key piece in reading the visitors' game to stop Barracas building sustained danger from midfield.

What became clear was both sides' difficulty in finding creativity in attack. Vet. Barracas failed to put together combinations that troubled the visiting back line, while Unión came forward with economy of movement but without clarity in the final third. Looking ahead to the next matchday, both will have to ask whether the balance was tactical wisdom or a lack of attacking resources. The goalless draw leaves a mixed feeling: defensive security, but also a lack of cutting edge in teams aiming for more in this league.
