Match report

La Gloria de Boedo did not have to suffer too much. In the matchday 13 fixture in Primera L of GBA Oeste, the home side dominated Mutual Liniers with the assurance of a team playing at home and well aware of its limits. The final 2-0 sums up an afternoon in which the visitors never managed to trouble them seriously, beyond a few isolated efforts. Both sides lined up similarly, in a 4-4-2 formation and with an even mentality, but La Gloria found the space they needed to hurt Liniers, who only managed to contain them in patches.

Santino Vaccari opened the scoring for the Boedo side with a goal the 25-year-old centre-back finished off by taking advantage of the visitor's lack of defensive solidity. The youngster León Bottura, at just 16 years of age, sealed the win in the second half with a goal that underlined the home side's attacking threat. Walter Hoffmann, the 19-year-old goalkeeper born in Comodoro Rivadavia, had little to do but was alert when needed; he was booked at a tense moment that reflects his performance well: focused, but without any need for miracles. Down the left, Bastian Brignoli moved the ball fluently, a midfielder who at 28 already knows the trade well. Ramón Tévez, the Uruguayan midfielder aged 31, controlled the game from the middle without any scares.

Lionel Mendoza in the visitors' goal could do little about either of the two goals. Nehuel Schwartzman looked to make his presence felt in the box but found Vaccari and company alert. Nazareno Halim, down Liniers' left side, had an afternoon of tight marking without being able to create any attacking danger. For La Gloria de Boedo, the win allows them to breathe a little in the table; for Mutual Liniers, there is work to do reviewing what went wrong at the back, because it was far from an inspired day, and even less a competitive one.
