Real Mataderos Reserves had no luck at home. Juventud Abasto took the three points with a 2-1 win in a match where both sides set up with similar, balanced systems, with no intention of taking too many risks. The visitors were more clinical at key moments, and that was that. Federico Cuello pulled one back for the home side with a goal that at least gave the result a bit of dignity, but it was not enough. Juventud Abasto knew how to manage a lead that was hard-earned, but in the end they managed to stay in Primera L - GBA Oeste.
The difference lay in the finishing. Galo Andueza, the 28-year-old striker with a background rooted in the south of Buenos Aires province, scored one and provided an assist in what was his best display of the afternoon. His 7.7 rating was justified by those decisive actions. Alongside him, Tobías Conti in defence and Cesar Biscardi in midfield, both with 7.7 and 7.6 respectively, held out as best they could against a Real Mataderos side that had possession but lacked depth. Cuello, the 23-year-old midfield player from Mendoza with that unusual gift of being two-footed, was the one who caused the most problems with his changes of pace down the left, which allowed him to get the home goal. Axel Arichabaleta in defence and Yamil Valdez in attacking midfield completed a solid display from the visitors, with no scares.
What remains for Real Mataderos Reserves is to improve their finishing. They had chances but lacked clarity in the final third. Juventud Abasto, meanwhile, are already adding valuable points and consolidating themselves in the middle of the table. For the home side, this sort of defeat at their own ground hurts more than the scoreline suggests.
