Match report
Reservas Floresta did not need fireworks to overcome El Vencedor de Montserrat in the West. Two goals in a match where both teams opted for the familiar, that balanced 4-4-2 football which in theory promises dynamism but on the pitch is usually settled with efficiency rather than flair. The hosts won because they took their chances and the visitors did not have the precision to punish their defensive errors. Two goals that weighed like a leaden weight in a matchday 13 fixture where little was left to chance.
Hugo Sartori opened the scoring from the left flank, one of those goals that arrive when a defender dares to attack without losing shape. Benjamín Arrillaga, at 27 and in the form of his life, settled the issue with the second goal and left El Vencedor de Montserrat with no attacking answers. The visiting side’s most genuine attempts to create danger came from Elías Zunino and Joaco Bastianelli, but Lito Ferreyra at the back for Floresta — that 25-year-old Patagonian centre-back who learned to read the game on vacant lots — stamped his authority. Felipe Loiacono in goal had little to do, although he was booked for something that happened in his area.
For El Vencedor de Montserrat there was only the frustration of a visitor without the resources once the scoreline turned against them. Saúl Barrera in defence was not enough to contain the deliveries from a home side that quickly understood simple was the shortest route. Floresta, methodical, took three points that allow them to stay in the fight for promotion in Primera L. Without any great showings but with the composure of those who know when to tighten up.
