Defensores de Caballito Oeste and Deportivo Constitución Veteranos shared the points in a match that reflected the tactical balance of both squads, but also the attacking bluntness that defined the ninety minutes. At the home stadium, where the Caballito side were trying to pick up all three points, the result was a goalless draw that satisfied neither side. The 4-4-2 line-ups and balanced mindsets produced a predictable match, in which neither wanted to take too many risks and both prioritised not losing over the desire to win.
The central midfielder Jesús Gándara, 27 years old and one of the pillars of the home midfield with a rating of 7.2, put in a decent performance but without being able to create any significant breakthroughs. Bautista Borinaga on the left found no space to get forward, while Luis Bartolozzi at left-back fulfilled his defensive role without major complications. For the visitors, Felipe Santini, the 27-year-old Chilean attacking midfielder, tried to find pockets of space between the lines to create chances, but the home defence gave him little freedom. Santiago Bianchi, the 23-year-old left winger, was booked during the match, perhaps the most notable incident in a grey afternoon in footballing terms.
The truth is that both teams left the stadium with the feeling of having left points on the table, though also with some relief at not having suffered defeat. For Defensores de Caballito Oeste, this draw keeps the hope alive in the table, but it does not really advance their ambitions. Deportivo Constitución Veteranos, meanwhile, leaves with a result that allows them to stay in the fight, albeit without the boost that a win would have brought.
