Match report
El Porvenir de San Telmo and Sportivo Floresta Sur shared the points in a match where neither side managed to impose themselves, although both had moments to take the win. The match ended 1-1 on matchday 9 of Primera I de GBA Norte, a result that left a sour taste for the home side, who played at home but could not make the most of it. With identical formations (4-4-2) and balanced mindsets, the fixture unfolded with similar approaches, where defensive errors proved more decisive than attacking virtues.
Antonio Couto opened the scoring for El Porvenir with a goal that seemed to set the San Telmo side on course for a deserved victory. The Bahía centre-back, 23, took advantage of a move in the box to score. However, Yago Tassinari, a 30-year-old striker with experience of having played in Patagonia, levelled things up for Sportivo Floresta Sur. The assist in the visitors' attack involved Misael Herrera, the 19-year-old right winger who showed flashes of quality out wide. Kiki Marichal, El Porvenir's left midfielder, was booked during the match, a detail that affected his movement towards the end. Tomi Mercado and Raúl Drago, the visitors' midfielders, were disciplined in their search to generate quick transitions, without real success.
The draw reflects a match in which neither team managed to turn their chances into a decisive lead. El Porvenir could not sustain the pressure after going ahead, while Sportivo Floresta Sur deserved a bit more for their ability to respond. For the home side, there is the feeling of a missed opportunity; for the visitors, a point salvaged in difficult conditions that keeps the dream alive in the fight for the top places. With this result, both continue to add points in a competitive area where every point counts.
