Match report
Unión Once and Real San Cristóbal Reserves shared the points in a fixture where neither side found the penetration needed to hurt the other. The goalless draw on matchday 9 of Primera I - GBA Norte left both teams with the feeling of a wasted chance, though also with the consolation of having taken something positive from an afternoon where football was nowhere to be seen. With identical 4-4-2 formations and balanced mindsets, both squads settled into a kind of tactical truce in which caution and mistakes outweighed the clear-cut chances.
Omar Sarmiento was the midfielder who tried hardest to get things moving in the home midfield, although his 6.9 rating reflects a performance that was bang on expectations, nothing more. At the back, Juan Hoyos picked up a yellow card without that meaning any real drop in his 6.7 display. On the visitors' side, Ulises Saud also saw yellow but held his defensive line solidly, shown in the 6.8 his performance earned. Lautaro Tabares, with his 24 years and his well-known limitations, tried to create down the right without much success, posting a modest 6.4 that sums up his afternoon rather well.
The match ended up being an exercise in mutual containment, with both teams prioritising not losing over winning. Real San Cristóbal Reserves did not have to cover great defensive distances thanks to the fact that Unión Once did not take enough risks in attack either. It was the classic 0-0 draw in which nobody regrets much of what was left on the pitch, because frankly there was not much left. In the table, a point is a point, but in terms of quality of play, this was a matchday for waiting on again.
